Information and FAQ

  • How far in advance should you order your cake? All cakes and cupcakes are baked fresh and following these guidelines will ensure maximum freshness of flavors and deliciousness. 

    • Custom cakes-A two week (14 day) minimum  at the least is suggested for custom cakes because I tend to book up quickly. More notice is recommended for custom designs. 

    • Signature cakes-Signature cakes should be booked at least a week (7 days) in advance. 

    • Cupcakes and Cakesicles- A minimum of three days (72hours) is needed for cupcake orders. 

    • Wedding Cakes- Three months notice is recommended for wedding cakes. 

  • Deposit and final payment

    • A 50% non-refundable deposit is required upon ordering to hold the date open for your custom cake.

    • Final payment must be made prior to pick-up/delivery of cake. 

  • Delivery

    • Delivery is preferred and available to Rota, El Puerto de Santa Maria, and surrounding areas.

    • Delivery outside of this area will be $2 a mile

  • Changes to cake order?

    • Any changes in flavor or design to a custom cake must be made two weeks prior than the pick-up/delivery date. The design process is well underway at this time. If a change is absolutely necessary, a $20 fee will be added onto the order.  

    • Signature cakes come as they are described. No additions or substitutions are allowed to be made to the signature cakes/cupcakes (except for allergens). However, vegan options are available on most but not all signature cakes/cupcakes. 

  • How many servings does each cake have

  • Cake care

    • Delivery is preferred to ensure safe delivery of the cake to the destination. However, pickup is an option for some. 

    • Once the cake leaves my care, I am no longer responsible for any damages that may occur to the cake during transport or in the final destination.  

    • Carry the cake with both hands under the board or box with even pressure. 

    • If purchasing a multiple tiered cake, there will be large boba straws in the bottom tiers. This is for added support and structure of your cake. Please take care when cutting the cake. 

    • If you are picking up a cake, it’s recommended that you bring another person along to carry the cake during the drive. If you do not have an extra person, the safest spot for the cake is on the passenger floorboard of you car. NEVER put the cake on the seat. 

    • Ensure that the cake pickup is the LAST stop you make before the final destination. Do not leave the cake in your car for ANY reason. Buttercream is mostly butter and will begin to melt very quickly if left in a car (even on cool days). As you go over bumps and lumps in the road, the cake is more prone to shifting so take any turns and the brakes lightly. Also don’t put the heat on for the same reasons as listed before. 

    • If traveling a long distance, please let me know and we can take many precautions and changes to the “packaging” to ensure the cake arrives safely and in tact. I have had people drive 4+hours with a cake in a specially designed box. 

    • When determining the placement of your cake at the event venue, keep it out of direct sunlight and avoid increased temperatures near windows. It is best not to place your cake on the west facing side of a windowed building or pavilion where the setting sun might hit it later in the day or warm up that side of the building. Not being mindful of these details could cause the buttercream decorations on your cake to melt while no one is watching. The cake needs to stay below 72 degrees.

    • If cakes are being held overnight, refrigeration is necessary.

    • Cakes taste best at room temp. What does this mean???? It means that you should let your cake sit out for at least an hour at room temp before enjoying it. This allows flavors to maximize and taste better on your taste buds!

    • Consultation/tastings are booked for $25. This $25 fee is refundable and counts toward the cost of your cake. 

    • Cake consultations last approx. 30 minutes-1 hour and timeliness is very important as I may have many tastings scheduled back to back.
